Wiley Australia and Bond University’s Faculty of Law (Bond Law) recently announced a new digital partnership to rebuild and relaunch the Faculty’s online Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) program, taking it to the forefront of flexible, diverse and innovative educational opportunities for law graduates and emergent legal professionals.

The partnership will expand and enhance the current GDLP program and enable online students to receive the same excellent learning resources, access to academics, networking opportunities and learning outcomes as their on-campus counterparts, thus strengthening the Faculty’s commitment to providing transformative educational opportunities.

Bond Law is one of only four Australian law schools offering this qualification in both on-campus and online modes. Bond University is consistently ranked as number one in Australia for the quality of teaching and student experience and was recently recognised in the Good Universities Guide as Australia’s leading university for several aspects of the student experience.

Bond Law and Wiley are confident that their partnership will add to Bond’s already stellar reputation. Through the partnership, Wiley will provide instructional design, online subject development and content co-creation and assessment services. These will allow Bond Law to attract and support a larger student cohort as well as further the efforts, goals, and initiatives of the Faculty. The online GDLP program will be available from, January 2019, and will join a growing number of online subjects and programs offered by the Faculty.

Bond Law’s Executive Dean, Professor Nick James, said, “We are delighted to partner with Wiley on this important initiative. Wiley brings a set of skills and expertise that is not readily available to those within universities who seek to develop high quality online programs. Wiley is providing us with custom solutions, and assurance of a high quality collaborative process. They have an excellent global reputation and are widely recognised for the quality of their online resource development. Bond Law is benefitting from Wiley’s ability to scale resources and their digital expertise as they work closely with our academics to deliver the best possible learning experience for our students.”

Wiley has more than 22 years’ experience working with universities in online program management. It has 40 university partners and services 231 programs around the globe.

Chris Gray, Vice President of Knowledge and Learning, Wiley Asia-Pacific, said, “we are excited to partner with Bond University and enable this next generation of legal professionals with greater flexibility in new and compelling ways.”

Gary Brady, Bond Law’s Faculty Business Director, said, “We chose to partner with Wiley because as our plan to improve the student online experience and expand the cohort came into focus, Wiley demonstrated an understanding of our aspirations, and a willingness to evolve their business model to fit our goals. Wiley shares our focus on providing a high quality student experience both online and on-campus.”

Bond Law sees its partnership with Wiley, a global provider of knowledge and learning services, as critical to its plans to embrace digital technology and lead change in the digital age.
